The End

I put together a little video of some of my photos (I had to take a LOT of them out so they would fit!), so I hope you enjoy it. It seems to sum up the trip pretty well.

I also want to thank Fabian and Alfonso...our amazing tour guides who were with us through thick and thin. They were wonderful and often went above and beyond the call of duty! I also want to thank all of the DSA folks: Bradey, Anson, Treana, Jeff, Holly and the rest who made this trip come true for us. You were wonderful to work with and I would to it again in a minute! The parents of the students also should be commended. Thank you for giving your children this opportunity. They are so lucky to have you--even if you did have to make some sacrifices along the way. Finally, I also want to thank all of the kids. Each and every one of you are such intelligent, responsible, happy, inquisitive, and all-round good people. I can't wait to see what you do with your new found knowledge and experiences. I hope it is a trip that you will remember forever.

Thanks to the readers as well! I hope it inspired you to create adventures of your own! Enjoy the rest of the summer! (And now, if you'll excuse me, I need a nap!!) :)

  1. very cool video! I'm going to read the rest of the blog that I haven't seen yet. I definitely want to go on Discovery Student Adventure, if given the chance! I enjoyed working with all the families and teachers this season... hoping to continue for a while to come.

Thank you for sharing your adventure with everyone! -jeff solomon (downz)

  2. To all the parents of students on this trip, I commend you on your truly wonderful kids. It was such a pleasure to travel with students that are engaged, polite, patient, appreciative and always respectful to their friends, teachers and new cultures. I will personally volunteer to take each of them anywhere and anytime!

A special thanks to Bridget for keeping this blog updated with great material and mostly being a wonderful role model for her students. You embraced everything (even waist deep mud;)) and made the adventure memorable for everyone.

  4. Thanks, Bridget for all that you taught the kids. And for taking care of everything during the delays in Chicago. And especially for updating the blog and photos! Charlie was happy to see his family, but VERY, VERY sad that the adventure had come to an end.

  5. Thanks DSA, for everything. I miss Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands, and everyone I met there. I'm hopefully coming back to Quito as a sophomore in college to study abroad for a couple of months, and can't wait to come back to Ecuador.
